Annie Louise Simpson Poole, age 89 of Gardendale, AL passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2015. She was preceded in death by her first husband, James A. Simpson, Jr.; parents, William H. Pyles and Mary Lou Raper Pyles; brothers, Jack Pyles, William "Jiggs" Pyles, and Calvin Pyles; sisters, Pauline Pyles, and Eve Edna Pyles. She is survived and will be greatly missed by her husband, Clifton W. Poole, Jr.; sons, James A. Simpson (Julia K.) and John Marcus Simpson (Wendy S.); a sister, Mary Francis Smith; grandchildren, James R. Simpson, Jacqueline R. Bates, Jonathan M....

She is survived and will be greatly missed by her husband, Clifton W. Poole, Jr.; sons, James A. Simpson (Julia K.) and John Marcus Simpson (Wendy S.); a sister, Mary Francis Smith; grandchildren, James R. Simpson, Jacqueline R. Bates, Jonathan M. Simpson, Brandon M. Simpson, Jennifer S. Simpson, Nicolette S. Winsett, and G. Branigan Winsett; great grandchildren, Jordan, Hope, and Erin Bates, Lily Simpson, and Isaac, Katelyn, Zoe, and Ezra Simpson.
Louise was born and raised in Birmingham and married James at age 20. They moved to Texas and worked for Simmons Mattress for a year but came back to Birmingham to raise a family. Several years after James death she met Clifton Poole at the Fultondale Seniors Center and they became Dominos partners. They became the Senior State Champions in Dominos and were later married on May 18th, 2001. A graveside service will be held on Monday, March 30, 2015 at Oakwood Memorial Gardens at 2 PM with visitation at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel from 1 until 2 PM. Her grandson, James R. Simpson will officiate services.
